The Union Public School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of:
Middle School Counselor
Notice Date: March 5, 2026
Closing Date: March 20, 2026
Location: Union Middle School
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain student records and protect their confidentiality
- Register students new to the school and orient them to school procedures and the
school’s varied opportunities for learning
- Remain readily available to students so as to provide counseling
- Work with students on an individual basis in the solution of personal problems
- Work with teachers and other staff members to familiarize them with the general range
of services offered by the guidance office and to improve the educational prospects of
individual students being counseled
- Advise administrators and faculty on matters of student discipline
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Guidance & Counseling
- Valid MDE certification with endorsement 436-Guidance Counselor (K-12)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications
- Experience as a middle school counselor
- Commitment to the Union community and Union schools community
Terms of Employment: 202 days annually
Salary: Based on district certified teacher salary schedule
