The Union Public School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of:
Teacher & Head Girls Basketball Coach
Union High School has a job opportunity for a Teacher and Head Girls Basketball Coach. The district prefers a candidate who is willing to coach another sport in the fall or spring. Applicants are expected to effectively:
- Instill discipline and a culture of respect within players and students
- Build a culture of hard work, determination, and perseverance
- Win at a high level and compete for district and state championships
- Be a positive role model for players and students
- Conduct quality classroom instruction
- Have solid classroom management
- Maintain facilities above expectations
- Prepare and condition athletes
- Support the administration's and school board's goals for the school
- Support and understand the rules and regulations governing high school sports and MHSAA regulations
- Assess talent and produce students athletes who are people of character on and off the field of play
Start Date: July 31, 2024
Primary Location: Union Middle School/Union High School
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Mississippi Teaching License
- PE and Health Endorsements
- Valid CDL Class B License with P,S endorsements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional teaching endorsements
- Head coaching experience
- Experience leading programs with a winning track record
- Commitment to the Union community and Union school community
Terms of Employment: 187 days annually and additional coaching duties
Salary: Based on district certified teacher salary schedule + coaching supplement schedule
